I really don't think it's going to sell well. The Civic Type R generated a ton of press, set a ridiculous lap time on the burgerking for a FWD car, and yet Type Rs just sit on dealership lots now.

Call me a skeptic, but I'm going to hold out until the thing is actually on the showroom floor.

The only thing that I believe is that it will be B58 powered. Seeing what that engine is doing makes me 100% fine and 100% agree with them putting it in a Supra successor.

I think people are going off of the leaked BMW document which only listed AT by the Supra. It also listed the X3 having a MT and another FWD toyota car with a MT in the US, so I don't buy it.

The RX-8 did a lot more to kill off rotaries than any emissions regulations could ever hope for. Not only was the Renesis weaker because of muh emissions, the engine was much more fragile and it would eat itself completely when the apex seals blew, as opposed to just scratching the housing in the RX-7 engine. Not to mention the oil pump supplied by Mazda didn't do it's fucking job and required a recall to have it fixed, Mazda recommended oil that was much too thin than what was required, the electronics were incredibly shitty and would fail at random times, and this is on top of the RX-8 being built during Mazda's rust bucket phase. The RX-8 was truly a piece of shit.
