Hypothetically, how do we make the miata faster in California if all the cheap turbo kits are illegal. Megasquirt? LS swap?
I saw a few miatas at a car meet here all with swapped engines but only 1 had the stock with a turbo kit. I asked him how he gets away with it he said he ditched the memeflow exhaust and keeps everything lowkey and when smog time comes he swaps out all aftermarket parts. Looked like too much of a hassle to me.

Flyin Miata has carb legal supercharger kit for the NC and is working on making the BBR turbo for the ND carb legal.
Begi makes a Carb legal kit for NB miata's
Edlebrock working on Carb legal supercharger for the ND, which will actually come with a powertrain warranty.
It seems like the LFX swap is going to be easy to BAR thanks to integrated headers.
All of the above is pretty enticing (and costly), but I just wish it were easy to BAR a k24 swap. :(
