Petrol or Diesel?
Electric

Both at the same time
Petrol passenger vehicles. Diesel utility vehicles. It's really not a hard concept to grasp.
>mfw Euros with diesels in their BMWs
>mfw Americans with petrols in their work trucks
Diesel
Petrol but just because I don't like the smell of diesel exhaust when driving them in or out of the shop
Petrol hybrid

Modern diesels are damn good, much better than hybrids. If I had to buy a DD brand new, it would probably be a diesel. Of course petrol for the weekend car is a given, but tested an A5 diesel a few weeks ago and it had a surprising amount of grunt for a 2.0
Petrol
Diesel in utility vehicles.
Diesel in Europe is having its ass prepped for taxes and scrappage. iirc deisel sales are in free fall there.

Petrol for the front wheels, diesel for the rear.

Could you elaborate on that?

Diesel is still cheaper by the litre than petrol in almost every European country
Is that set to change?

are you driving a leopard 1?
>>17702343
No, but lots of discussions about banning diesels from inner cities, in Germany and France for example.

Because diesels are heavy, noisy and smoggy, and you don't need their torque to move a guy and his dinner bag of Wendy's around.
Highly efficient petrol engine with hho and electric assist for my card and Diesel with hho assist for my work truck.
What if I had unlimited access to free diesel
Would it make sense getting a diesel car then?
I've heard that old diesel engines are considerably worse than modern ones
What constitutes old/modern? Would a '98 audio A4 with diesel engine be considered 'modern'?
