Alright, let's explore the pickup option. Cheap you can get a GMT400 half ton 2wd with a Getrag or New Venture 5 speed for less than 6K. Good!
There is a Dakota sport or R/T you can get with a 318 or 360 V8 for maybe a little bit more than 6K. Ford, don't know much about their manuals. The dodge manuals are good as they also use New Venture I believe. 99+ GM trucks command a higher price and are hard to find with a 5 speed. The 88-99 trucks are FANTASTIC. Yes they are old, but they rule.
