how do i go about getting insurence for a modified car? (britbong btw)
are these modified car specialists legit or are they just gonna rip me off?
is it worth it to just lie to the insurence companys? even just for small things like wheels or coilovers?
im still a busrider atm btw i still know nothing about insurence.
im also 20 and want an mr2 n/a so i figure i should do anything i can to get that premium down.

idk but in america if you don't tell your insurance about your modifications, they won't cover it. they don't really care if you don't tell them
like if I put a turbo in my civic that doesn't come with a turbo and I get in an accident they won't cover my turbo (if its damaged) if I didn't tell them about it.
If I did tell them about it I'd probably pay way more insurance so fuck that
Fellow Britbong here.
I'm with Adiran flux and theyve been alright for me. Most normal companies won't quote me. My daily isn't too bad on insurance, its a 330ci with no mods. I'm looking at about £1200. My other car costs £2100 and thats without all my mods declared. It's a bit of a postcode lottery though, my insurance is sky high compared to some other peoples my age.

Forgot to mention. If you have an accident someone comes to inspect your car they will report the mods. Anything that isnt declared could mean you lose cover. My advice is that if you're going to keep mods secret, make it something you can undo within a day before someone comes to look at it.

Unfortunately it's the cheapest I could get.Insurance hates me. I'd still recommend flux or sky over regular insurers.
If you have a daily driver, you should be able to negotiate a very good price for your modified vehicle that you obviously "only drive to car shows and on the occasional weekend".
If your daily is the one with the mods, you can negotiate an insurance rider, which is like an addendum to the normal insurance so that your specialized equipment is covered. This almost always requires an inspection from the insurance provider.
Do NOT mention racing or track use in any way, as they will never ever cover track incidents (though barclays will cover anything for the right price jej).
This is a burger perspective. My 700HP+ 72 Demon costs less to insure than my Chrysler Pacifica mini-van because Michigan law. I only use the Demon as a recreational show car. I swear it.
Zenith are decent with me, I'm £320 for a sti
If you are prepared to take the risk, just lie like fuck

i guess i will try lying then
i dont think id lie about anything more than minor things im not planning / cant afford to make a full on 400hp racecar.
and i cant afford to have 2 cars so its gonna be a modified daily.
im not really fussed about them not covering my mods if i crash it seems fair but im worried that they might take it further than that.
like if they find out i have coilovers and wheels and stuff is there a chance they just wouldnt cover me at all or tell other insurence companys i lied to them?

just remember op, with jews you lose. if you have ANY undeclared mods they will fuck you as hard as possible, they are always looking for any excuse to fuck you over and steal your shekels.

Live on a remote Scottish island, lots of kids drive uninsured and just hide them when the ferry captain says there police visiting the island. Be prepared to like dialup and wickermen though.
Try greenlight as well, they don't charge extra for cosmetic mods and power is free if it's under a certain threshold (remap fine, 90mm turbo and 350 shot of nitrous is going to cost a bit more)
>>17691940
It's not just the mods that won't be covered, nothing will be, you will be driving uninsured, so effectively paying for nothing at all by lying about any mod.
If you lie and get caught out it will fuck you over immensly as you will have to inform future insurance about having previous cancelled. You can be the best driver in the world but all it takes is a thot to not pay attention and blow the fuck out of you.

If you don't declare modifications and you have an accident you'll get absolutely raped by the insurance company.
Go with a specialist like Adrian Flux. I've used them whenever I've had a modified car and I've usually found the premium was lower than an unmodified car.

I forgot to say, if you had undeclared coilovers and got involved in a moving traffic accident then the assessor would a) spot the non-standard suspension and invalidate your insurance and b) you'd be at a good chance of getting blamed by the other party's insurers due to the non-standard suspension and you could end up paying for the other party's costs. It's really not worth it.
