Mememon

the third generation hemi is not, but the car built around it is a pile of hot dogshit.
>>17688642
This, cool engines but pigfat crappy cars
>>17688642
the third generation hemi is not a hemi. By this point, it's a marketing term and nothing more.
>2 sparkplugs per cylinder
blasphemy.
The chassis is decent for a sedan, but on the 2 door model, it doesn't work. It's WAY too heavy. The chassis it uses is a bastardized combination of a Mercedes S-class front end, the rest of the chassis from a Mercedes E-class, the transmission from an S-class, and then the engine from a Dodge pickup truck.

I don't really know much about hemis at all. does the 3rd gen hemi have any special quirks?
>>17688733
2 spark plugs per cylinder qualifies as a quirk
>>17688625
and death trap
>>17688732
This.
Get a charger instead
>has to use photoshop to turn a corner
>>17688738
hmmmm well i'll be damned, does it give any performance enhancements?
Well the 'American' would for sure be the Hellcat only, not the other Challengers
>>17689972
Generally. The larger the bore the harder it is to control detonation. Combustion chamber details and design, charge dynamics (tumble, swirl velocity, quench and cooling dynamics) are key details that help lower tendency for detonation. Dual spark plugs also help. But it costs more. As combustion chamber designs have gotten better and materials and tolerances have allowed for tighter quench band, the need for dual plugs has lessened. Duel plugs can still be a benefit, but manufacturers are reaching performance targets without using them and saving cost.

not necessarily.
IIRC, it's mainly there for emissions to make sure the fuel is completely burnt.
Of the 3 muscle cars out currently, the Camaro is the best performing; the Challenger is the best looking, and the Mustang is a jack of all trades, but a master of none
They all have trade-offs though.
The Challenger is based on a pigfat sedan.
The Camaro is the one you can't see out of.
Ford cheaped out on drivetrain components for the Mustang so it's not as reliable as the Camaro or Challenger.
>>17688625
YES BUT ITS A PRETTY DECENT MEME
PIGFAT AMERICAN NUMUSCLE
BETTER THAN FAGGOT SMART CAR TESLA KUCKCARS
try driving them
driving in a camaro or mustang feels like your driving an sports car
driving a challenger feels like you're driving a yuge boner inducing, patriotic eagle shitting, beast of american steel.
>>17689957
Chargers are okay, a 5,000 lb coupe is not
>>17688625
Another day, another Challenger thread.
No, it's not a bad car. It's a huge, comfortable cruiser with power on tap in any V8 trim. The more you pay, the more unreasonably fast you can go in an early 2000s Mercedes with Dodge badges.
The interior is cheap, but comfortable. It has great ride quality and as much space inside as a Charger. The performance is better than you'd expect if you listen to even a single post on /o/.
They're decently quick, even with just the 5.7. They turn better than is implied, but body roll scares your average driver.
I've had one for five years with no issues and the whole Chrysler Quality meme is bullshit.
The Challenger is a throwback to a bygone era. If you enjoy old muscle cars, you'll enjoy it. That's all there is to it.
>>17688625
Everything is a God damn meme to you retards now
