Is it bad for your car?

They're usually 10-20 cents cheaper per gallon.

There's this sus looking off brand station I went to a few times and it always seemed like my gas burned faster and I lost a lot in an odd amount of time, so yeah I usually avoid them unless they got a real good deal.
