Surely I'm not the only one with this problem. I like to keep my car clean and minimal. I keep nothing in the car trunk but a jack, some bungees, and a spare. The problem is that the jack and bungees don't fit in the well under the board that covers the spare.
If I do put it in the well area, it makes the board covering the well uneven. If I keep it above the board, it slides around the trunk. How can I secure the jack and bungees the the sides of my trunk?
Your predicament sounds *very* familiar
The simplest way is to remove the carpet to weld hooks or buckles (like https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/pRIAAOSwmfhX7ccV/s-l300.jpg) to the side, then cut a hole in the carpet and put it on again
A simpler way, if you can reach from the other side aswell, is to just drill a hole into the trunk wall and attach the same buckle with a bolt. The "difficulty is wether or not your car actually has any wall to drill in, or if you'd just go through the actual body

Why the hell do cars not come with these pre-installed? It's genius. I figured there was some way, thank you

Some do - on a lot of cars it was/is a factory option
Like the pic I first posted; my 1998 C-class had nothing like it, while my friend bought a 1997 C-class half a year ago and it has two factory hooks
Make sure you know what you're drilling into tho; you don't wanna hit a cable or something
