Hello /o/, I'm buying my first used car soon, my boyfriend suggested I ask you guys for advise, I don't know much about cars, and he thinks it's suspicious someone would be selling a car after only owning it for 5 months.
Thoughts on the car? And any recommendations from the rest of the site? Thanks in advance.

Bump: Sorry, I forgot to post I have a budget of $15,000-$20,000. I'm not looking for a specific make, model, year, etc; just something reliable.
Though the car I'm looking at now is a
2014 Honda Civic LX
Mileage: 36,875
Condition: No accidents
No faults
Asking price is $14,995
you can get a 2 year old buick regal 2.0T for under 20,000. They are bargains.. if you don't mind driving a buick, which some people do.
They do quite well in terms of reliability. Don't get the 2.4 though, the transmission and everything else will probably shit itself.

You can get a new 16' Mazda 3 or new 16' Corolla with your 20k budget

So like this one? I don't mind driving a Buick, I'm just making sure I pulled up the right make and model and everything.
My only cosmetic preference is that my car not be white or silver like everyone elses.

2.4L ecowreck equinox owner. Can confirm. Shitty piston rings lead to oil consumption issues. Valve train loses lubrication before oil goes fully below operating range on dipstick. Timing chain will stretch or worse. Though gm does have a special policy to cover timing chain up to 200,000km but it's not always the timing chain that fails. My warranty just finished and I'm already looking at impending camshaft solenoid failure (for the second time).

Take that $20k and put $10k into a new car and get a good rate for 6 years. Shit you c an get fucking nice shit with that kind of down payment. Just bought a 2017 Escape with nearly all options for $26k after TTL with only $8k down and $200/mo payments.
Get the civic, it has the best interior in terms of technology, you wont regret it
get the new one

We talking 91 octane?

What's wrong with your current car? Why would you spend 15-20k on an econobox? Just get a civic for 3k or get something actually good.
