half of my normie friends friends drive a 2012+ corollas, but i dont really see civics that often, also it seems to me that 9th gen civics are less common than 10th gen ones. but honestly both are shit

Depends. The Civic has a better chassis, but if you want an engine worth modifying, you have to pony up 35k for a Type R, meanwhile the Toyota's 1.8L does have decent aftermarket support, and there are, theoretically anyways, bolt in IRS swaps for it to improve the chassis.

I'd probably grab the Corolls, on new ones anyways.
