Well, actually it was the movie Drive. Then i started noticing which cars on the road were nice and being able to distinguish brands/models. Then i played alot of Forza. Then i bought a miata. Then i watched initial d.

I was already into cars but initial D made me want to become a better driver, not just chase benchracing figures.

320 at the wheels is super high for stock twins. From the factory the FD made about 210. Those turbos are tiny, and can only put out about 12 psi (stock is 10) regardless of your setup.

Mine is still on the stock intake, intercooler, and fuel pump, and it's emissions compliant, so 243 isn't bad at all.

Not even, 320whp @12psi is common, I've seen as high as 360whp @ 15psi on stock turbo and stock port housings.

A few unicorns have hit as high as 400whp.

Depends on how much compression you're working with and the condition of your turbos.

I got into cars in 2001 with Gurran-Turisimo 3.

I got my license, started modding, going to the drag strip, and street racing in 2005 (didn't autox or track 'til 2007).

I finally got around to watching Initial D in 2012 lol. It certainly increased my interest in drifting though- I'm not going to pretend it didn't influence me at all.

When someone would ask me what my favorite car was, I'd say a Lamborghini Aventador or a Ferrari 458. I was that kind of person. It wasn't until the end of highschool that I actually cared about cars. It's a good thing I learned about Initial D and JDM just in time too, or else I'd have gone to Japan without visiting or seeing any of the iconic JDM cars over there. Even though we have most of them in Australia already,

By the time I was 18 and had my license, I had the choice to get my first car. So I got a JDM.

It's certainly very reliable for an FD, but there's still a lot of stuff I want/need to do to it. It can be scary to drive on twisty roads because the suspension is stock and has a lot of worn out bushings.

It changed by taste in cars.

Before this I was into hot rods and cars with big chrome wheels and subwoofers.

After initial d I started to be interested in 80's japanese cars and small wheels like ssr starsharks.

I am glad this show influenced me.

Yes, it sorta ignited something in me. I was content driving my automatic shitbox into the ground and didn't care how it looked, but after finishing it, it kinda ignited something in me. I'm working on learning manual transmission (which I long shunned since I didn't see a point), and I'm going to start taking baby steps to learning to work on my own vehicle since I'm tired of being jewed. It kind of reminded me why I had so much fun driving my dad's car when I was younger. Decided to start squirreling my pennies away for a Miata or whatever else I find.

Cars were always a large part of our families lives my uncle from my moms side of my family worked on cars and knows his shit and my dad collects "vintage" cars
like a 69 indy 500 pace car camaro, 57 ford convertible, and an indy 500 pace car c5 corvette among others

He used to do stuff like take me to school when i was a kid sometimes in one of those cars, and go out for drives

it was fun, but i never really understood why driving was fun, beyond going fast is kinda fun until i discovered eurobeat

my old man hasn't driven the c5 in years so i'm talking him into getting the paper work sorted out and letting me learn stick on it and take it out for a spin sometimes, and now i'm going to start saving up for a second car in the future
