Why were there no other cars like the AMC AMX?

There were other cars that were similar in ways. AMC was very good at coloring outside the lines. It's part of the reason they did so poorly.

3 speed auto was an option, but most had a 4 speed manual. 225HP is the base engine, you can get a 280HP small block or a 340HP med block too.
