I almost bought a stick shift R-spec, or whatever the blacked out carbon fiber trim level is, one of those from a Gen X yuppie last year for $4500. But when I looked at it, the the rear rotors were nearly worn through and he didn't know how to check the oil. I pulled the dipstick and I couldn't see any.

I bailed since I didn't want to get involved in a poorly maintained turbo car, but I still kinda wonder if I should have. Car looked nice and clean overall.

I've never driven one, but everything I've read tells me they drive like a fastback Miata and I never thought my NA was slow unless I had to punch it at highway speed. Probably a blast to drive if you like turning.

I absolutely understand where people are coming from...on paper the car doesnt seem that great, but there are some things you can't put on paper...I'm still having heaps of fun every time I get in the car. Yeah you won't chop cunts in drag races but in the mountains it's more than enough. Bare minimum the car needs headers and a tune.

Having said that I've driven a turbo BRZ and that was heaps of fun. A very natural progression for this car - I'm saving up for a kit myself. Amazing aftermarket support and always get looks when I'm driving.

They are drivers car just like Miata.
They won't set any track records but with good balance they teach you to drive smoothly.
Stock tires suck but they are good learning tires.
/o/ loves miatas but hates Frs.
Suspension mods really free them up, give it a shot some people will love it some won't.
I had one for about 2years and track them more then I DD them.

Frs had:
Hangook evo2 tires, front rear strut, brake pads, steer wheel rack bracket, transmission insert, door stabilizer(best bang for the buck), all mounts replaced.
And full bolt on e85 tune.
Of course gutted interior.

And the Fiat is 8/10. The only thing it needs to be a 9/10 would be speakers and to get the lumbar support figured out in the seat. To get to 10/10 would be about 40 more hp.

This thing is so much fun to drive though. Going under bridges or through tunnels and punching it on second or third with the windows down literally gives me a half chub. I also love the handling, I think they nailed it.

Also own a mostly stock berlina black AP1 with 4.77 gears, berk test pipe + tune, tien coils, couple aesthetic goodies. I plan on getting a Kraftwerks supercharger over the winter, doubling the whp on low boost will be nice. I'll just need to change the retainers with some nice Michelin PSS tires and I'm good to go

If you have the stock 4.10 gearing I'd suggest going for 4.77 if you like more torque off the line. Only bad part is your lowered top speed but it's up to you and what you intend on doing with the car. It's good for 1/4 miles and highway pulls, fun to drive around town at lower speeds because it's more snappy than stock

Mines mostly stock as well with intake/Cat-back. I did want to change the gearing to 4.77. Did you do it yourself? How difficult was the work on it? I'm saving up for the SOS supercharger myself. The S2K is by far the most fun car I've ever owned.

Nah I bought it off someone I knew well and it was already done last year lucky for me. Apparently it's not that difficult and only takes about 3 hours, bunch of tutorials online too. Bought it this year so it's my first summer with it, and I also agree most fun car I've ever owned and driven. The only thing I'll upgrade to one day is a black early 90s NSX but for now this is my money pit with tons of mods to come when I can afford them :P

also sorry for double post, check out this graph. i can't stress how much i recommend the 4.77 gears, i've done numerous tests against stock s2000s and 0-60 they get destroyed each time. top speed runs i'll lose, but how often do you go 150 (240 kmph) on the highways anyways

And funny thing is my aw11 is a turd right now because it got stolen and the engine is fucked so I'm hoping it's just the head gasket and upon further inspection I realized the mounts are fucked too and it has scratches,a dent on the back right fender and small dings on the left so it's not clean anymore sadly
