Saw this gorgeous 70s or 80s japanese sports car today and I can't figure out what it is.
It looked a lot like the 240z in terms of shape and design however the back end was a bit fatter, and the tail lights were more like a square rather than the 240z more rectangular shape. Any ideas?
260Z
280Z
280ZX
no, its a differerent car with a different bodystyle. It just looks very similar to a 240z. When I mean square headlights, I mean truly a square.

The one in the OPs pic is definitely a 260z. I can tell by the rear end and the 240z badge on the trunk lid.

My bad, the picture I linked is not the car I am looking for, just a filler pic of a 240z. I fi had a pic of the car im looking for I would be able to figure it out.
Where do you live, OP? We could narrow it down by the market.
Are you sure it was Japanese?

Santa Cruz, California
If it wasn't japanese... whoever made it was copying their style for sure. I mean it looked like the 240z's brother basically. Rear view mirrors on the hood, long nose etc.

C110 Nissan Skyline?
Maybe an early Celica then. Possibly a Mazda RX-3 but I'm not sure if those went to the US.

The tail lights were a bit bigger than this picture, probably 50% bigger, and the tail lights arent lines, they are pretty solid
>>17616430
oh and another thing, the rear is pretty flat
>>17616430
Weird. Its like a mini mustang. To fit the average japanese man.

it had older styling, more 60s. Bumper was smaller
Old Silvia?

Tail lights aren't square
It did look somwhat like this though. But a little sporty looking
FUCK I FIGURED IT OUT. FINALLY
WHATEVER THE HELL THIS THING IS. THIS IS WHAT I SAW. My memory fucking sucks it barely looks like a 240z
