finally a utilitarian work vehicle without bs. shame it's electric.

I'd love it if it wasn't electric.
>>
>>17616079
I'm guessing this costs some serious money.
They're probably charging extra for the cost cutting "utilitarianism" and "minimalism"
>>
>>17616398
No, they said they want this car to be more affordable than most cars, and that they want it to be non exclusive

So probably ~20k

The lack of electronics/safety tech probably lowers down the cost from a traditionaly designed ICE

Just look at that milled aluminum frame. Has $100k+ looks.

I like it tho. Very nice suspension, this will be one fun toy for rich people, fast both on and off road.

I can see it working well for park rangers, ranch workers or shit like this where you drive around rough terrain but always come around to a charging base.

If it's priced as a fleet vehicle, that is

That frame is a nice weldment, not milled, and the simple design actually makes crash repairs feasible for high end diy/modders. Of course it would be an insurance total like everything else if hit hard, but that's not a consideration.

Full torque at zero RPM could make for a very impressive crawl ratio.
>>
>>17617157
You're using more fuel because you're having to use lower gear and actually having to climb shit.

Use a generator. You're not going to be using much battery juice when rock crawling
>>
>>17620293
Are you a retard? Full torque at 0 rpm and it'll only use power when moving and not idling. And it can recover some energy when going downhill

Hope the build quality on the production cars is good. Seems like it'll be rattly and have terrible road noise.
>>
>>17616079
Man, if this is as cheap as the looks would imply, this would be a great offroad EV, the minimalism should keep normies away from which means that it shouldn't get s shitton of extra crap and become a glorified mall crawler, and the design looks like it should be pretty much modular which should be cool, this could be the return of the 2-door SUV that ORG has been searching for.

it's 60k. Not sure how accurate that is.

perfect for cruising and hauling shit around my ranch.
>>
>>17617157
You don't understand how electric motors work they use more power when torque is required its why they let the smoke out when you overload them.
>>
>>17616392
>vehicle only useful for like, a rancher or farmer

fuck it, guess ill buy another platinum f250
>>
>>17616079

>>
>>17620543
Have you never owned an RC car or, you know, studied basic electrical systems?
The more work is required from an electric motor, the more amps it draws. If you send full power to a stalled motor it'll draw enough amperage to fry itself relatively quickly. If you take this thing and drive it over severely-uneven terrain (anything involving a lot of climbing) I guaran-goddamn-tee you the battery will be flat in less than 50 miles.

>>17617533
>>17617715
It'll probably be low-production which means IIHS can't say shit.

>start using all-electric truck for actual work
>battery drained in 2 hours
>modest load of 5,000lbs kills the range by 400%
>gee whiz sure am glad I saved the planet today
>otherwise I'd feel guilty about getting absolutely NOTHING done with this worthless fucking truck

Can we all just agree that electric vehicles are still in their very primitive stages, and that the technology isn't ready for widespread use. It won't be ready for at least another decade or two, based on the rate they're developing it. They don't have the range, and we don't have the infrastructure. These two things KILL the electricuck mobile.
