Hey /o/, I'm looking to buy a truck for under 10k USD. Preferably extended cab and reliable.

This.
If you need something bigger, get the Tundra. It's crazy reliable that it puts the domestic trucks to shame. One man managed to surpass 1 million miles with no engine replacement, the only thing replaced on the truck was the reverse gear.
Toyota makes the best vehicle.
My GF bought a brotrucked out 2003 Silverado Z71 with the 5.3 for $11k. Shouldn't be that difficult to find a stock V8 truck all the way into the mid 2000's for under $10k. I would say get either a 2003+ Dodge with a hemi or a 4.8/5.3 GM. The Ford 4.6/5.4 lack low end torque and known to cross thread it spit spark plugs, you need a torque wrench to install them at the very least.

Nice paid news advertisement, but be real no Ford can rack up 1 million miles with it's original engine, and that POS Triton must have been replaced around 360k miles.
Get outta here. And no diesels don't count.

I own a 2001 Toyota Tundra, stay btfo domesticuck.
OP i'm in your situation except I'm stuck with the truck that you're looking to buy. I've had a 5.3 Vortec 2WD 2003 Suburban for the last 10 years and it has been absolutely drop-dead reliable; not a single part on it has failed unexpectedly and it has only received routine maintenance (3k mile oil changes and part replacements according to warranty). It's at 166k miles on the original motor and transmission; the only things that are beginning to go on it now are the transmission's gears, which slip, and the motor's intake gasket is failing which is causing a rough idle.
Things that needed to be replaced:
Fuel pump (70k miles?)
Tie rods in the front end from broken concrete driveway (twice, our fault for not fixing driveway)
Then nothing for more than 8 years
Last month the serpentine belt shredded after I got off the interstate coming home; 3 hours later it was fixed.
These GMT800 GM trucks are fucking awesome man. They're up there with Crown Vics for reliability and cheapness of parts

99-02 is the best you'll do under 200k miles probably. Good years though, solid truck's.
It's impossible to really "buy" a gas pickup for under 10k. Even if you find one for less than that, you'll spend much more after multiple engine rebuilds, usually one every .15-.2M miles. An $8k gas pickup today costs $14k by 2020
