I want one for daily driving and hauling my handyman tools around for work. I also live in NYC.
I figure both are impractical, but which is more of a bad decision?
YJs are cheaper, but more rugged and uncomfortable.
I like how they look and I think I they're more attractive than TJs
TJs are a bit less retarded, but still a wrangler.
What's your experience with these, /pol/?

TJ is far superior. A more comfortable ride and modern conveniences, with off-road capabilities that are the same as, if not a good bit better than the YJ. Still, I wouldn't recommend a Jeep Wrangler as a DD or a hauler. They get terrible gas mileage even with a gutless 4-banger, and there's virtually no room in the back. If you want a Jeep, I'd recommend an XJ or MJ.
