Why should anyone but the driver of the car care how fast they put it around the track? When you go to the track in a street car you're only racing yourself.

I don't mind if it's slower or faster, in the end it's all about enjoying a platform that's interesting to you.
That said, I see no point in owning a showroom only car, which either needs a ton of mods to do what it should be doing from factory, or you can only rev it at stoplights or get looks from kids in highschool who think you're ken block.
