>Driving in a circle
Why is this Motorsport again /o/ ? How can this inferior shit be in the same bracket as Rallye or the GT-Masters?
>crashes
Because it's real life pod racing.

>underage
Boring to watch, but all the cars are spec and it's really hard to make time on an oval. Major props to drivers who can actually make their way through the field.
>driving bumper to bumper at 200mph on a 3D track endless corner
>just turning left

You don't get this from the pompous brits in the GT series
It's the wwe of motorsport
>>17569200
>solid axle stick-shift RWD V8s with no TC or other fancy gadgets racing bumper to bumper on an infinite heavily cambered corner, constantly at the edge of traction with just a 1mph difference being enough to gain or lose a place
>busrider assumes it's just le driving in circles because they've never driven anything that isn't a <90hp FF economy car
I don't even follow NASCAR, but you can't deny that it takes serious balls to drive in.
It used to be a blast to watch, but those days are gone. The past 12 years have been focused on muh safety and corporate greed, which ruined everything
Meanwhile in proper motorsport
>1.6 liter
>Gay French Renault engine
>v6
>900HP
How can sub par murican cars even compete? Anything producing less than 100HP per litre is lawnmower tier. Muscle car enthusiasts have a massive case of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micropenis
What kind of an insecure manchild do you have to be to enjoy loud and shouty 8 litre engines that produce a pathetic 300HP? Go back to suckling or let go of that indoctrination.

>rally, track racing, formulas
>got inside a car
>just take corners as fast as you can and here you go, victory
>nascar
>you're just running around in a circle and yet you have to figure out a way to be better than other racers
>and your car is from 1960
nascar is cool in its own way

>Formula 1
>Proper Motorsport
HAHAHAHAHAH!
I may not be the biggest NASCAR fan, but you sure are a special kind of stupid.
NASCAR is easy to hate on. Hell I do it, but you gotta remember how insane the job is.
Like the other anons say, bumper to bumper at insane speeds, while trying to maintain traction. One little fuck up can cause a massive pile-up.

You can only drive them in circle, they are difficult to drive.
Just wait until they get on a track

More gay than golf
>implying it takes as much skill as rally
its not all circles

I like NASCAR but I do wish they would race rain or shine. Put rain tires on and let driver's make the other adjustments and get after it. Don't all the other racers race in rain? Even motorcycles....what gives?
>>17569200
Because roundabouts are that exotic to americans that they make a sport out of them.
>>17571945
I am no expert but I guess they would have to go much slower, but the power would still be there.
Basically there would be much more crashing as in racers would probably take too much unneeded risks.
And I also guess that driving so close with cars slashing water into each other is also not a positive factor.
So, racing in rain in NASCAR would literally be sending the drivers out to crash.

https://youtu.be/Vq-hO1t9sTU
Thats why
>>17571945
they do race in the rain on the road courses (or at least they've been prepared to, haven't followed nascar very closely in a while), however ovals are a lot different, the cars are a lot closer together and the cars are a lot closer to the walls
>>17569950
This, they need to go back to requiring cars that can be bought from dealerships like 60s 70s Nascar
>muh superbird
I won't deny that pack racing at daytona or 'dega inches from other cars at over 200mph is really cool. And I can only imagine what the atmosphere must be like watching those races from the stands.
But what about the short tracks like pic related? I know it takes skill and a good setup to make up time on one of those tracks but it must be super boring to watch

F1 is one of the most safety cucked sports there is. It's almost impossible to die now days with all the safety bullshit. Now a formula car on a tight mountain road with no safety barrier...

god its like watching /ovg/ race
>>17569200
Ovals are actually pretty complicated.
Toilet bowl racing
Watch just one NASCAR race with no pretense and you will begin to understand the appeal. It's a whole lot more fun than you think.
