Was doing brake job, took off this brake line in pic related so the caliper could move more, put it back together but I pulled a stupid and sprayed WD-40 on the nut to kind of clean the rust off, but the bolt wouldn't lock in. Like it got tightened in and all and threaded through the back, but it would just keep going and going and wouldn't fully lock into place. I'm assuming I crossthreaded it or something, I know I'm retarded, but should I be fine leaving it like that? It was in there pretty firm and didn't feel loose when I gave it a wiggle, so yeah am I gucci?
Add a safety zip tie and call it good.

That plate was threaded before you pulled them out by the sounds of it, your going to have to go up a bolt size drill out the tab and plate and re-tap it, or get a longer bolt and place a nut on the back of it.
No. If it's your car then take the risk. If it's a customer's car then fix it right. Lasted thing you want is an injury case your way from shotty work.

Fuck, dammit. Well I'm going to the mechanic soon to have another issue looked at, so I'll ask them if they can fix it up for me while they're in the brake area.

He's right
Just put in a slightly longer bolt and a nut, done deal.
All it does is hold the hose from flopping around.
Hell,

A heavy zip tie would work too.

Yeah honestly I might just ziptie it around that hole in the bottom left hand corner of the pic, seems to be close enough to the hose.
