everyone was hyped about the rear tail-lights
and now they removed them
Isn't it obvious that you couldn't open the rear lid/hatch/whatever in that pic?

Holy shit, they made a pick up with out a tailgate.
Merc confirmed for the Apple of cars.
>we saw into the future, and in the future you wont need tailgates, so we removed it.

desu its not like anyone buying a pickup truck with more than 2 doors these days is actually hauling anything beyond their fat fucking family
Couldn't they just sell the unimog with a nice interior?

Never forget that Benz hates you
>>17565224
Was that just a snide comment or do you want actual answers?
>>17565278
Both, though mostly the later
>>17565153
You say that as if "people" buy pickups to use a pickup
>>17565360
The Unimog is a fully fledged work truck. Specifically this means:
1 - It's built to handle extremely tough tasks and this construction style doesn't come for free, so it's priced like a work machine, not like a light duty consumer vehicle.
2 - Being built as a work machine also means it's got the fuel economy of a work machine.
3 - Being built as a work machine also means it can't provide the ride comfort and speeds of light duty consumer vehicles.
4 - Being a fully fledged work truck it also weighs the part, and this is problematic particularly in the EU where the standardised licensing system demands a different, light truck license for vehicles over 3.5 metric tons or 7700 lbs. Most people don't have this license, so most people wouldn't even be allowed to drive a Unimog, whereas anyone with a driver's license can drive a Nissan pickup truck.

>Holy shit, they made a pick up with out a tailgate.
No more tailgate parties with this Mercedes "truck"
>>17565431
Just want to say that work vehicles usually have fairly decent fuel economy in most of the world as they typically run smallish turbo diesels.
People work to make money, they don't want to be pissing it away at the same time

Decent for their size, but not decent compared to a consumer vehicle.

I hate this trend of turning trucks into luxury SUVS. Time for trucks to go back to revisit their roots.
>>17565620
Utilitarian trucks and farm trucks a best
>>17563197
>using the bed/tailgate.
You don't understand the point of vanity trucks, son.
