I don't drive an S60R, it's a 2012 R-Design.

The 04-07 R was a lighter, more tossable car that was offered with a 6mt tranny, though you'll pay a pretty penny for them. The Ohlins 4C system shocks will also cost you a kidney, the engine has a timing belt, and the angle gear for the early Haldex had questionable reliability under any sort of increased power. They looked fantastic though, the interior was the perfect mix of old and new, and they largely drove like a slightly heavier, much more powerful 850 T5. They're also the absolute pinnacle of the Volvo 5-cylinders, making 300hp factory off of 2.5 liters and having god's own engine note.

The R-design has the 3.0L I-6 with the twin-scroll turbo and in US spec trim, comes with a Polestar tune from the factory so it's pushing nearly 15psi of boost and is rated at an extremely conservative 325hp from the factory, though it's probably making more like 350+HP and nearly 400ft-lbs at the crank. The car is heavy and feels like driving a crossover, but it has the late-gen Haldex so it anticipates throttle input and shunts torque to the rear accordingly so there's no AWD lag and it accelerates like something with at least a 50/50 front/rear torque split. IIRC it also vectors torque across the rear axle, so while the car weighs the better part of 4000lbs it'll point anywhere you want it to. The engine note is more subdued than the old R's was, though, and the brakes are a big weak point compared to the old R. OTOH, the shocks are regular old fixed-rate ones so the stock suspension setup is arguably better/more durable than the OG S60R's was. The interior is like something from the JJ Abrams Enterprise, but the fit and finish is Audi-tier.

Mine's in red like the pic I posted as well. The engine IS a mechanical masterpiece, with the weird flywheel-side timing chain, and VTEC-style variable cam profiling on the intake cam. Pulls incredibly hard off the line with minimal lag, burns oil like a two-stroke.

It sounds incredible with the Kpax exhaust, though I live in the city and I really don't want to draw any extra attention to the car so I've held off on it for now.
