Girlfriend drove her '10 Jetta 300 miles to come see me. Halfway through, a CEL comes on. She arrives and I scan it and it comes out as:
P0106 - MAP/Barometric Pressure Circuit Range/Performance Problem
I drove it for about 70 miles and the CEL went off. Like 30 miles later it went back on again.
As we were driving it, I was checking for anything weird in temp, idling, or acceleration.
temperature was always normal, the car never rough idled (Drove over 100 miles), and acceleration wasn't weird.
Would my girlfriend be able to drive the car back 300 miles or would it be dangerous? I'm debating driving the car back to her place with her driving my car.
Thoughts?
Sounds like a MAP sensor.

Did she drive 300 mile to get her car fixed or do something with you ?

She drove 300 miles to hang out with me and halfway through the CEL went on and now here we are?
As long as the light isn't flashing, probably. Probably isn't doing the cat any favors, my guess is the ECU defaults to a run rich table. I'd see how quick and at what cost it would take to throw a new MAP sensor at it.

We legit have no time here to change it :/ Should I go with her? I can't because I have other obligations (school)

Jesus you sound like a fucking 12-year old, "should I go but I can't!". Either be a man and get the car fixed or fucking let her drive it back, clearly you're not capable of handling this yourself.

I asked to see how likely it is for her car breaking down. Based on that, i'll make a decision of whether or not I'll go.
Obviously I can't handle it myself that's why I'm asking the people of /o/.
change the MAP sensor faggit
