200whp is kind of chump change considering what the same engine in the 500 abarth is capable of, the limting factor for the 500 it's the glass transmission
this thing has the pretty stout NC 6-speed so it can take way more power.
right now everyone's trying to crack the ECU with...mixed results...but once it's cracked and there's a nice selection of intakes and big exhausts and turbo swaps this thing can put down some crazy power for not much work

FCA already has a fucking bonkers MOPAR exhaust you can order for them from the dealer. I can see the aftermarket for these things just being fucking crazy in a year
>>
>>17537423
Drove it for probably 2 hours tonight after I bought it, and the recaro seats are comfy as fuck

To be honest, it's really refined on the highway too. More so than I was expecting it to be. The ND's that I drove were "meh" tier at best in terms of highway driving comfort
>>
Well done, hombre.

Now turn up the boost and get some cleaner-looking wheels. Or just enjoy it as is; I'm sure it's fun.
>>
>>17537439
i am shocked that someone at fiat OK'd the stock power band. its so peaky with no bottom or top end. Any of the current aftermarket tunes dramatically flatten the torque curve
>>
How does it feel to be the proud owner of an ND Miata with a bodykit channeling 1.4 liters of pigfat turbolag through an NC Miata drivetrain?
>>
>>17537455
What's the difference between the North Dakota miata and the North Carolina miata?
>>
>>17537444
Because it makes it really punchy in everyday traffic. If you're cruising around town doing 45 and you downshift to pass someone you're right at the top of the torque band

>>17537455
So far so good
>>
>>17537465
North Dakota Miatas actually produce oil and leak out old oil, so you never need to change it. North Carolina Miatas have a tendency for steering into crowds of blacks. Take your pick.

I'm jealous of anyone with opposed piston calipers, you can get them on almost any sporty car now but back in the early 90s when my car was made they were basically nonexistent except on the very highest performance trims of exotics.

For real tho, nice car, I was considering one for a bit but didn't end up going that route.
>>
>>17537348
Make sure to spend some money on quality detailing supplies if you haven't already, being careful not to fuck up your paint now is way easier than fucking it up and having to do a full paint correction down the road.

>FCA products, even the Hellcat is disliked here
Oh, they are garbage.
The Fiat 124 is basically Japanese with an Italian twist. If it was full on FCA then it would be the usual piece of shit. I also can't wait for Hellcats to start to fall apart. Chrysler products hold up for about 3 years and then it's all downhill. The first wave of Hellcats are getting ever so close to 3 years old now. I can't wait to see the owner's faces when they wonder why their supercharged hemi 6.2L is falling apart. Hemi is already not that reliable, supercharging it just kills it quicker.

tl;dr Fiat 124 is good, everything else FCA is crap.

desu if he just got a miata he would be better off, no turbo to give you issues.
Turbo cars have a turbo... those are prone to wear out and start burning oil, plus higher strung smaller motor to get the same power as the naturally aspirated miata.
It's pretty silly when you think about it.
Turbos are cool when you're making power, but using a small motor, turboing it, just to make the same power as the NA version, it just makes no sense.
It's added complexity and adding more points of failure, more shit under the hood, more problems to show up for literally no benefit.

It's more fun this way really.
>>
>>17545660
I'm only pointing out the ways it's inferior to a miata, if that upsets you, you obviously have bias that is stopping you from coming to terms with this.
>>
>>17545667
It's not trying to be a miata, you're comparing the equivalent of a grand tourer to a sports car. And yet it still has better suspension and brakes and the ability to reliably chiptune to 200hp on top of a nicer interior, more comfortable seats, arguably better styling, a sexy italian exhaust note and a wastegate. There is nothing inferior other than being half a second slower to 60 on a car that weighs more.
>>
>>17545580
>Fiat’s biggest misstep—adding power—actually seems like a good idea on paper. The reality is that the 1.4-liter turbo is a lag-filled look at the pitfalls of turbocharging. Below 2500 rpm, the engine appears to run on Sleepytime tea. A saunter from 30 to 50 mph in sixth gear takes 13.6 seconds, almost three seconds longer than the Miata’s time, and only a half-second quicker than a manual Ford Focus with the 1.0-liter three-cylinder.

Nice torque dude!

Unlike the brz86, these are two different cars with different design goals that share the same platform. You keep conflating them. One is a silly Italian roadster that does silly Italian roadster things like make noise and handle well and have an engine built by communists (that actually has solid reliability for a change) to roll around in comfort and style and the other is a squishy British roadster designed by Americans and built by Japs that tries and fails to be a lotus elan because those things are deathtraps, but still succeeds at being light and nimble. It's two different philosophies.

I've owned more rusted out euro turds with vinyl roofs than I care to mention. They have different philosophies. Italian roadsters are more about interior comfort and style and noise and brakes that work in mountain passes while the bongs go for stripped out interiors and softer suspension for maximum speed on the country lanes. They don't even break down the same way. Your leylands like to overheat, leak oil and short out so you can pull over, look like you know how to fix a car, enjoy the countryside and have a quickie on the trunk while the stallions like to overheat, leak oil and short out so you can pull over, light a cigarette from the lighter under the hood, argue loudly, and have a quickie on the trunk. It's very different.

Maybe in Hillary's America, but thankfully we don't live in that.

>>
can we just fucking ban the dogfucker?
he's only contributing to fights.
>>
>>17548070
Ban the dogfucker, ban alphonse, and that's how you fix a good chunk of /o/.
>>
Should I lads as a first car? I think I will.

imo it's a bit expensive for a first car, VAG can be pretty expensive to maintain.
>>
>>17548110

Ban me for what? telling the truth?
>>

how much do mods need to get paid to make this happen
>>
>>17548121
but i got bored of them see them on every corner
and I wanted a smallish car
the A class looks like shit at least the one I can afford
looks like an ugly box
>>
>>17548070
Dog fucker, Alphonse, prezo, etc.

They all ban evade whenever mods give them the hammer and mods won't range ban the IPs they're using
>>
>>17548134
You're not very smart are you?
Alphonse has been banned hundreds of times, nothing can be done to stop him, he uses a VPN to get fresh IPs easily.
Mods can't stop him from posting on /o/, it's impossible.
>>17548148
I don't ban evade, mods ban my tripcode and without my trip I don't even bother posting, there's no reason to post without a tripcode 2bh.
>>
>>17548148
Range bans wont do anything btw, VPNs can't be stopped, mods did rangeban t mobile and it did nothing because he doesn't even use that anymore.
>>
>>17548169

ban phoneposting in general

it'll also stop chickenposter
>>
>>17548280
You don't need a phone to use a VPN though, it wont do anything.
Banning phoneposting and VPNs would work, but the mods can't tell when somebody is using a VPN.
>>
>>17548169
>>17548283
So you're saying that killing him is the only viable solution? How do you know he's been banned? Are you in contact with him?
>>
>>17548169
VPNs are banned on 4chan unless you have a pass you dumb nigger
>>
>>17548289
I know he's been banned because I used to catch his bans all the time, he lives in my city.
When his posts disappear, he isn't deleting them, mods are.
Mods delete his post and ban the IP he was posting with, which of course does nothing because he just gets a fresh IP.
He cannot be stopped via bans, it wont work.
>>
>>17548302
There's no way for a mod to tell if a user is using a VPN, so you're wrong.
You're thinking of a proxy, which can be detected.
>>
>>17548283

common normie tier vpn's have their own ip range idjet

not everyone uses tor to post on fucking 4chan
>>
>>17545093
>why would you get X when you could get Y instead

you can literally replaced X and Y with anything. thats how well your argument holds up.
>>
>>17548312
How dumb are you? All VPNs are automatically range banned, mods don't do shit it's all developers
>>
