that sound like a fairly good price for a dealer oil change, however inquire first about the extra charge for synthetic if you're going that route.
Just get ready to be upsold up the ass. Dealer multipoint inspections means alot of opportunity to call you and say they found major leaks behind the motor and that they need to run a thorough diagnostic

I don't even know. This'll be babies first oil change.

year/model?
Most newer vehicles would call for synthetic oil. They'll probably give you shit saying "WARRANTY VOID" if you don't use synthetic, which may or may not be true depending on Mazda's specific nomenclature in the owners manual.

looks like it calls for 0w20 oil, which I've never seen as a conventional oil.
However, if you live one of the southern states or somewhere with a very warm climate, you might not use an oil that thin regularly. Check the owner's manual before going in for that service. A lot of owners manuals will have a chart like this, pic related.

If you do it yourself, synthetic and a top tier filter is around $35.
Depends on what your time is worth. oil changes arent hard but you do have to spend the time. i have a dealer that will do the labor for 20 if i bring the oil. i buy mobil one from costco in the six quart packs and they leave the extra in the trunk

>$27 for an oil and filter change
Jesus christ, they must be using the cheapest, shittiest stuff they can find.

bulk purchases
>buy a new car
>get the oil change 3 year deal
I change my oil every 6k miles. The $800 warranty was well worth it.
>>17536439
well assuming you change your oil ever 5k and you put an average of 15k miles a year for 3 years thats 45k miles thats only 15 oil changes worth at most 30 dollars a piece which is only 450 dollars
congrats you double paid for oil changes.
>>17536416
don't forget the whole "recommended services" they're gonna throw at you.
The rationale is like ikea, you come for the 75 cent hot dogs and you end up buying furniture.
>>17536450
No way. I drove over 25k miles a year for my job. Synthetic every oil change.
>>17536502
I did my math wrong
75k miles over 3 years is 15 oil changes which is only 450 dollars
Decent price from a dealer. Trust me, I work at Jiffy Lube. We'd charge you $89.99 for a full synthetic.
>>17536434
Even then, you've gotta pay your workers. The only time I'd want some $7.50/hr beaner touching my car is if he's washing it.
