>buddy thought oil warning light means "oil is low, fix this soon"
>in his micra though it meant "NO OIL PRESSURE FUCKING STOP RIGHT FUCKING NOW"
>continued driving for 10 minutes
>car came to a forceful stop like hitting the brakes (autotragic)
>wouldn't crank anymore
>the end
glad I didn't borrow my car to him
>>17526457
*lend my car to him you mong
>relying on gauges and warning lights
>gauges and warning lights never fail from faulty sensors
>not checking shit manually yourself
Learned my lesson the hard way when the radiator busted a hole yet the temp gauge was "all good homie, same as it ever was" and ended up cooking the engine into oblivion on a road trip.
>>17526441
>no CEL
>no warning
>didn't notice oil pressure gauge shitting itself until it was too late
>doesn't crank anymore
I have a love/hate relationship with 6.5 diesels now.
>engine light has been turned on
>everything is fine, mechanic says it's because of fucked up sensor
>buy new one
>engine light is turned on again, for over a year now
fucking Alfa
>>17526563
whoever buys Alfa actually waits for the instruments to turn into a christmas tree. it's expected and called "character"
>driving fresh rebuilt engine
>driving around town having fun
>stop at light on down angle hill
>oil light starts flickering on
>shitting pants and nowhere to go for next 10 seconds
>speed over parking lot and stop
>checking oil over, seems little low but not dangerous. Fill it more with oil form trunk
>drive home and oil light appears again
>certain there's a huge hole or leak
>nothing
>freaking out for a hour trying to find something
>Turns out low idle triggers the light.
Pic related my car.

What's the context of the pic?
Is your car the best looking thing your shitty town has?
>>17527376
>he's a dirty FB normalfag
>>17527422
Rented it out to friend for prom. Wanted the shittiest looking car possible
>implying horses have oil lights
>>17527376
Still not good. Either get the oil pressure sensor checked out or figure out why it's not keeping pressure at idle.
Or with a car that old, just say "fuck it", start putting heavier weight oil in it and oil treatments and drive it until it blows up.
>Tail light outage sensor trips after starting car in the morning
>Check lights
>They work
>Restart car
>Warning light is gone
>Mfw
>>17527539
I did something similar back in highschool. Borrowed my friends rusty ford econoline cargo van.
>>17526441
>Be earlier today, headed downstate to put a for sale sign on my van
>About 3 miles from mom's house as my van is still downstate
>Hear a noise I don't recognize
>Roll windows down
>Car is knocking like crazy
Time for another EJ20.
>>17527432
>beat to shit Metro
>paint fading bigly
>riding 6-people
>no license plate
>driving absolute piece of crap in front of crowd
That's not exactly normal.
>>17527614
>keep buying Subaru
Are you rich?
>borrow moms car for a day
>throw it into a corner
>oil light comes on

>check engine light comes on
>fix whatever error code it tells me
>comes back on a few days later
>it's the same error code
