A thread dedicated to the discussion of taxi cab vehicles both in/out of the US. What car is your city still using? And when do you think they will be phased out?
in NY you'd think it'd be all Crown Vics, but Hurricane sandy made sure it fixed that. The final fleet of brand new Crown Vics were destroyed by Sandy, and this while the city was already starting to replace the fleet with those Nissan vans.
these days, it is a weird hodgepodge of shit. it's a mix of nissan vans, priuses, and other assorted shit.
it's actually rarer to spot a Crown Vic.
My town's biggest cab company is using Scion XBs. Here's a pic of one of their cars.
Also, this guy slaps your girl's ass. What do?

CV's are too old, NYC says yellow taxis can only be 5 years old max?

6 years old. Also, they should have remade a modern version of this the 50s/60s checker taxi (similar to what London did with their black taxi cabs)

sandy was back in 2012, only a year after Ford stopped production of the Crown Vic
There's one of these for sale by me for 7500
Mid size sedans but mostly camry, prius and some minivans for groups.
Panther taxis still exist but are rare as fuck.
