So i'll be a teacher (aka poor for the next 20 years) this year and my old 93 ranger is beat up and i've done all the things i'm willing to do with it to keep it running.
I'm now in the market for something cheap, four door, and efficient on both insurance and overall easy daily driving.
Everyone is pushing me to buy new (friends included but they don't do their own oil changes, etc)
I'm thinking of going certified pre owned to get the bonuses and still taking off a chunk of the price.
The chart was handy for some base ideas of model types but nothing I didn't already know.
My TLDR
2014-2016 Civic ~ $13k range with 25-30k miles depending on model
2013 - 2016 Camry or Corolla ~ 14k range with 27 - 35k miles
2015-2016 Versa/Versa Note ~ 10-12k with 15k miles max
I know all of these are slug machines.
I'm not racing in them.
I know it's not exactly racing /o/ themed but i'm just a future broke educator needing something I can drive to school without feeling like trash.
Pic related; some mini car that wants way more than it'll ever be worth.

Just get a civic for 3k. There's no reason to buy an almost new econobox.
post your local craigslist.

you’re a fucking moron
everything that

listed is just as good, if not better than op’s autistic options
I just want to throw in Honda Fit into the list. They're great "teacher" cars for the days when you need to bring lots of supplies to field trips, etc.

this. 2005-2016 civics and camrys were bad

Since you are throwing in the fit why not just consider the hrv as well.

Yaris

How about you learn to turn a wrench and fix your ranger? Since money is clearly an issue here.

Idk I love my micra super good on gas pretty good handling for the price and fun to drive in curvy roads

The problems are mostly cosmetic from years of abuse and hauling wood and other junk.
Money is an issue because I want to pay off my student loans and get that house down payment ready.

Get a Scion xA, they're pretty cheap (4-6k at dealerships that still have them) and have Corolla engines so parts are everywhere.
t. Scion xA owner since 2011.
