It would be close enough. The blower sits under the intake manifold and the whole package will bolt into the Probe without hood clearance issues so I would imagine the Protege would be a close fit seeing as the KL does fit without hood clearance issues.
It would be a nice novelty but no one swaps them because the KLZE is only 10hp less and you can get that back with Pacesetter longtubes and a decent tune.
