The only issue I ever had with it was the front sprocket nut coming loose. On the old ones they didn't torque it right or something from the factory so you just have to torque it to spec and it's good. Happened to me on a trip, came loose but not off. It'e a huge nut so I had no tools to fix it and it was fine for the rest of the trip just made a little knocking noise occasionally.

Oh and the plastic brake reservoir eventually got brittle and cracked so I replaced it with the Triumph aluminum one.

I kinda miss the big triple desu

>>
>>17494747
They truly are. I actually bought a Rizoma one to save a couple bucks but the plastic reacted with the brake fluid [on a brake fluid reservoir?] and cracked leaving me to improvise a reservoir during a trip. SO I decided to just shell out for the Triumph one.

I have this now. It fits my riding better but on the highway hauling ass I always miss the 1050.

01 - 34k miles. Bought it with 29k. It looks good from about 10 feet away or from camera shots so long as I don't emphasize the weird shit. Biggest annoyance is those gaps between the front fairing and the panel that goes under the bars. Most be chink fairings or really fucked up from crashes because they don't fit right.

Probably still runs like new though. Is that an upgraded radial front master I see? I've been considering the same because of the sponginess of the front brake feel. All fluids flushed including brake fluid and although having clean high temp fluid helped a bit i have to have my lever set to its furthest setting or I feel like it's going to touch the grip from all the sponge

Btw that panel seems to fit differently every time I put it on because of the ram air covers having multiple bolts, grommets, and a hook. My advice is leave front and side fairings loose and bolt the covers in first to draw them in making sure they hook under tank and the side hook slides forward and goes into the side fairing. That hook not going in the notch will leave a gap

no, stock master. I have the opposite problem lol. The brake lever feels like squeezing a wooden block once I get past the huge deadzone at the beginning of the travel range.

I had swapped on a radial master from a ZX6R at one point and it worked great just after bleeding but I ended up going back to stock because somehow air kept finding its way into the master cylinder.

lift the tank, like you do with every engine that doesn't stick out the side
lift the tank, again.
on the tail, bungee cords can wrap around stuff, and you can always bolt a rail on if you are dissatisfied and want something people can't cut off your bike...like everyone else who didn't buy a factory bagger.
you. there is no other acceptable anchor point for passengers. they hold on to you, they move with you, the bike remains stable.
by rolling it around, or just use the stand. wait, you seriously do that more than once a month?
yes, and that has a lot to do with compound. you're not gonna see motoGP-grade rain tires with hyperaggressive tread on showroom floors man. they wear out in like 5 miles.

I'm currently on a restricted licence and ride an 11hp 125 motorbike

but Sunday week i'll be getting my full bike licence... hopefully...

now a 125cc bike is perfect for the city, i'm only getting a big bike so i can ride in the mountains with some friends.

Should i own two bikes? like a big bike for fun and a small bike for city riding? maybe even a scooter or honda cub for city riding? or would something like a cb400 be fine for city riding? or maybe some kind of 250 would give me a good balance?
>>
>>17497154
If the difference between 520 and 450 feels like switching to a bicycle, then goigg from 520 to 480-490 should still be a huge upgrade

Italian bikes go for cheaper than I should where I live because there's no dealer network to speak of and people just don't trust italy. Jap bikes under 10 years old, however, sell for near their MSRP unless crashed or riced, especially typical "adult owner" bikes like nakeds.

Just back from 160 miles on my 125. Longest ride yet, longest time on the bike as well.

My balance is now all sorts of fucked up from balancing on two wheels for that long.

>with the desmo valve actuation (no valve springs) there is very little resistance in the valve train and so very little force required to turn the cams. Thus, you can use a belt where a chain would normally be required. As for any actual advantage of the belt vs a chain, less mass = less inertia = more power under acceleration

Would pic related be a decent piece of riding gear if I don't want to roast in long sleeves+long pants?

>/DCT/ - Daily Cowboy Thread

I've got one and I wouldn't want to ride in it (nobike scum). I mean yes they're a heavy denim/canvas but they're also soaked in oil and are about as impermeable as a PVC raincoat. Also I'd be concerned about the coattails getting caught on stuff.
>>
>>17499107
Might as well save paramedics the trouble and ride in a bodybag.
>>
Hey /dbt/
How many of your coworkers ride bikes to work?
I've got 8 people here, 9 once I get my bike

OH FUQ NIGGA
I put off mailing you two days ago cause I was thinking of hosting my image on my own server so the link would stay the same but I could swap out the image at will. But then I second-guessed myself looking at the other images; they don't look hardlinked. Do you just ask for a hosted image so you don't risk downloading infected pics as email attachments?

Is the FJR 1300 too much for someone just moving up from a 125? I need a comfortable slab eater.
>>
are we back to this thread?
>>
>>17500025
just practice good throttle control, and keep in mind its going to be a lot heavier than a 125, so some of the habits you developed with such a light bike wont be great for one that might be 2x as heavy.

Double digit numbers of guys ride to work when the weather permits (submariner in washington), all kinds of bikes too. Weapons department has 4 guys who ride groms and a couple liter bikes, navigation has like 6 dudes with enduros and bikes just ride whatever autists ride.

>>17499621
3 scooters
12 or so bicycles

really sad

What would you say was the heaviest bike you've handled? I found the ER-6Ns I had to learn on to be tricky but manageable after getting used to them. (Wet weight ~196kg)
>>
>>17500165
it looks nice enough, especially for $2k, check it out in person though real thoroughly since a lot of naked/cafe bikes start as crashed bikes.

You are like a little baby. 210 kg here
>>
>>17500179
Some choppers and touring bikes 270kg+

Look up vids of how to pick up a heavy bike if you are concerned. My second bike ever after a Bandit 400 was a VFR750 that I dummy dumped in an intersection. My brother had to help me pick it up and get it out of traffic. I felt like such an ass. It happens, don't hate yourself.
Get the bike you love. If you dont, you won't stick with the hobby.

The more I rev my engine the less my turn signals blink, they only blink normally at idle and just stay on anywhere past 3k rpm. What gives, I can only find people with the opposite problem.
