Let's see those engine bays!

i dont think anyone else on here actually owns a car
geez thats hideous
I really would like to because I was supposed to get a Mishimoto induction hose today but they sent me the wrong part and now I'm salty
No busriding for me
>>17493458
Why is there so much dead space and plastic between the radiator and the rest of the car?
>>17493458

Reeeeeee valve
>>17493487
Just a PI 4.6 out of a newer crown Vic and a ton of suspension work. Super clean all black interior...the car had a lot of money invested in it but I got it for $800 because it wasn't running due to a wiring issue.
>>17493506
>That paint quality on the cam cover
Wow 5/7 perfect can really tell you tried
>>17493889
>>17493558
This really messes with me. It's TOO neat.

>I got it for $800 because it wasn't running due to a wiring issue
dis was the last one i took t b h
>>17493899
Thanks brother that means so much to me to hear that, you have no idea. I put my heart and soul into that valve cover, literally everything i had in me. Im going to tell everyone i know what you said. Made my year.
The turbo setup was just an afterthought.
truly the face of poverty
>>17493514

>>17493474
>not itb's
>>17493458
not my car, but the sport trim. only difference under the hood is no tower brace (the factory is ugly imo)
interestingly those two levers on either side of the car disable ABS and traction control at a hardware level. you can still disable traction control from inside the car, but the lever means that you can never turn it back on by accident
Do you guys remember me?
>>17496392
It's coming along slowly.

the car will never be fast because your spark plug wires aren't red
>>17496579
I'm about to add a red upper strut bar that'll go over them. Is that enough? Red brake calipers too

>>17496681
why don't you have proper bracing for reducing body flex then? the front end must be a floppy noodle
Work in progress, still has no engine or ecu wiring
10 years of dirt. I want to clean it without damaging anything, any tips?
>>17493458
>>17496698
Supra chassis is very good already a thin metal brace is not going to do much
>>17496807
wat
tire fryer
>>17496916
actually it does quite a lot, it changes the geometry of the front suspension in a way.
you seem awfully defensive about this, do you not like the look of those bars?
less related, what coilovers are you using? the orange tops look neat in the black and silver engine bay
>>17496467
My god that's sexy. And it's the factory manifold, 2010
>>17496664
it's actually not that bad, once you start removing stuff it gets a lot easier
>>17496788
I just use some heavy duty car wash in a 2 litre tub - mixed strong
>>17495104
My fucking nigger.
sure
>>17496298
I've never actually seen an S197 with ITBs. But I looked it up, and the power gain got the cost is waaaaaay lopsided and doesn't seem worth it.
>>17496947
Not him, but a strut bar only adds stiffness, reducing the flex of the struts under high loads.
It doesn't change the geometry of the suspension; only reduces the geometry changes associated with frame flexing.
I don't know about supras, but knowing how heavy they are, they probably have a lot of chasis rigidity already.
>>17497734
How much MPGs?
>>17496698
Strut tower braces really don't do much, what you want to change that is proper suspension upgrades like coilovers
>>17497693
Wash by hand or could you use something like a low/med strength power wash
>>17494405
>didn't get a RWD conversion kit
you had one job
>>17496183
is that an SS?
We can't get those in Canada, cause we got cucked
>>17497972
All of them.
>>17497985
>that intake
>that fuel line
BLEGH
>>17497972
>>17498144
around 6l per 100 Km
>>17497985
FSO, Lada or fiat ?
>>17493710
are cold air intakes even worth it?
>>17498228
Not usually. Unless your intake is unusually convoluted, they don't usually improve airflow at all. And unless they are couples with a better intake manifold, they are usually break even horsepower.
>>17498228
same if not less horsepower more often than not
maybe cooler denser air but it almost never translates to more power.
tl;dr power changes within margin of error -- no
>>17498228
>>17498304
>>17498375
does it Help the engine at all?
>>17498390
If it's any consolation, it makes your engine sound a lot better (but that can be subjective).
>>17498228
A lot of them are worse. Like in cars where they pick up more hot air than the OEM intake.
>>17498430
>>17498458
so just sound would be the only real gain here.
here's the engine bay of the bus I took today, it broke down and I had a chance to take a picture!
>>17498160
Not bad.
>>17498487
Why did you take the bus instead of your car?
>>17495104
>>17497709
even the cover is gorgeous
>>17498664
get out
>>17498375
actually, colder denser air does normally translate to more horsepower. the problem is that most "cold air intakes" aren't actually cold air intakes. instead it's just a cone filter still located in the engine bay.
My itty bitty 454
>>17498777
lul fuck that other place amirite guise, do u liek me now!?!?
>>17493908
Nice turbo
Need to clean up the engine bay a bit. Want to paint the cover too.
>>17493458

>>17500969

>>17500971
It's NOT for no reason, it reduces engine noise and, oh yeah, keeps the engine bay clean of this >>17497985 kind of filth getting into it.
My Audi is 12 years old, that pic was taken a few months ago. Do the math.
>>17501017
I don't know, but the instrument cluster does have screen tearing.
>>17501073
>>17500969
How long have you had it? Also, do you see a spike in your electricity bill when you recharge it? My parents are looking at getting a Volt do to the government rebate.
>>17501094
We've had it for about a year and a half. There has been no noticeable change in our electricity bill.
>>17501134
Do you usually charge it at night? Where I live we have SRP for electricity, they have a electric vehicle program that makes charging at night cheaper.
>>17501145
Yeah, it's charged almost every night.
>>17494052
