About to go look at a 98 f150 with the 5.4l v8 and 4x4. Gots 160k miles on it dude selling it is asking $2600. How bad am i about to fuck my shit up? Never had a ford and have read that this engine likes to eject sparkplugs

If you hear the ticking when it's running one of those plugs is preparing to leave its home for bigger better things
The 5.4 is a piece of garbage. My dad had one for a while and did so much engine work he still has nightmares about having to fix it. So I'd advise the 4.6 if you can.

The good news is that you won't need health insurance.

I love how the headrest comes in for the kill. Just to make sure he's dead.

The only application I know of it being any good is in the gt500.

Even the ranger does way better in crash tests for the same year
Does the 302 Windsor eject spark plugs too or is that just the Tritons?
>>17485918
from my experience, only the triton 5.4 v8 and 6.8 v10 like to blow plugs/strip plug threads. the iron headed 5.0/302 etc dont have that happen nearly as often if at all.

The 4.6 was terrible, my brother and dad had them in auto and manual, they both blew the engines and the computer has a ghost in one of them.
Not OP but was also looking at a 5.4 ford. A 2000 Expedition with 155k miles on it. Should I ignore that and go for an 01 Suburban instead?
