Is revving an automatic in neutral while rolling not a good thing or what?
>>17476605
Yes!
>>17476605
I don't think it would hurt anything, as long as you don't slam it into gear while revving. Not doing it any favors either though. Some states, it's illegal to coast in neutral, check your local laws.

Why the hell would that be illegal, sounds more like some EU emission law than a US law. While we don't actually have such a law.

Usually in mountainous states where people will coast in neutral downhill - and then cause an accident because they're dumb. So after the first 5 or so idiots doing it, they pass a law...
>>17477294
so you're saying i cant be in neutral and hitting the red line while going 20 mph because when i put it back into drive it could get fucked?
rip
>>17477745
It would hurt the clutch packs/bands in your auto. Make them wear out faster and they would need replacing sooner. That's a transmission rebuild. And it's $$$$. But it's your $$$$, so do what you want.
>>17477905
Autos don't have clutch poor fag.
>>17477988
WRONG.

>>17477745
well if you let the revs come down before shifting into drive agian it should be ok
>>17476605
Why would you do it anyways? If you're in neutral and revving then you're only throwing out gas and if you re-engage the gear then you put wear on the transmission

>typical /o/ poster
>>17477571
So it's because of shitty driving lessons? Even though my country is flatter than an asian chick, we still learn that you always engine break downhill.
>>17476605
Rev it like BAMBAMBAM then select D for maximum respect
>>17476605
Depends on the car but on some transmissions you can burn up the clutch packs doing it.
>>17477988
Get back on the >>>/b/ us faggot.
>>17479131
Funny thing is that it doesn't even matter in the states because automatics select the highest gear possible when you come off the throttle and they have no engine braking anyway.
The laws probably came from before the 50's when autos weren't so prevelant

>Not always putting wear on tranny on a DD
>Implying that anything itt matters
