I know that you're not asking for advice, but...

Do you have any kind of life outside of your buddies/gf? Aside from cars. Cause that's important too.

Try new things. A lot of people are doing ultimate frisbee. Learn a Latin dance with your gf. Join an adult/corporate baseball league. Take up climbing. Any good hiking spots in your area?

I found a kitten crying in a dumpster last summer and knew I had to keep the poor thing. It's almost a year that we've had Jerry and he's brought so much happiness and life to my otherwise stressed family. Having my buddy greet me after a long day at work never fails to make me happy.

Since it's a feel thread, I'll try to brief an anon's story where he lost his crush to a horrific accident which included her modded car that resulted in death, who was a great car fan. He couldn't even get to say to her that he likes her. I read this story a year back over here and it had my eyes water up. I don't think much people will remember the post but that post also got a lot of replies.

Anyone got a screenshot of it or remember the whole story? I don't remember much either.

My grandpa's '02 Pontiac Bonneville.

Thing was a luxury sedan in its day, generously sized with motorized seats, heated seats, godlike climate control, moonroof, and a neato red interface.

Bought it from my dad when I was 20 for my second car. (First was '94 Grand Cherokee. Thing's still not fucking dead.) As soon as I got it, the area around the fuel door began to rust like a motherfucker, even though I cleaned the car religiously. Then some twat managed to swipe my front bumper AND rear end me in the same day at Walmart. I know because there's red paint on the front and rear bumpers now that clash horrible with the graphite paint.

Finally, I learn that my dad didn't change the oil for 10k miles, and when I changed it, it began to rattle. Took it into a mechanic and he concluded that the engine was fucked, as well as the frame that he discovered is completely rusted through.

Took it to a stealership to make an offer on my new dd, didn't even give me $500.

my truck has been horribly neglected for the past couple months while I've been working 7 days a week on a big job. I finally got home late friday night. yesterday I washed, claybarred, waxed, sealed the exterior and then steamed the carpet, scrubbed the floormats, conditioned the leather, cleaned all of the windows inside and out, cleaned the screens, cleaned the bed and organized all of my tools and straps, polished the exhaust and the chrome wheels. today I just went for a nice long drive to enjoy it in all of it's squeaky clean glory. best thing I've felt in a while. it's coming up on 60k miles and is still in better condition than most vehicles with 20k.

I drive a truck very similar to yours but a different brand. I also sell trucks and take them in on trade for a major brand dealer. Clay bar on the outside is not going to increase the value when you sell it. Hail and dents. That's all that matters. Unless a scratch goes through the paint it doesn't matter how many it has or doesn't have. Swirls, tree branch scratching, purse and backpack fine scratches, ECT. Its all the same to us unless you have a scratch go down to metal it doesn't count for anything. The lack of swirls wont either. Sorry you are wasting your time.

There's a difference between taking care of something and pampering something. Anything less than normal wear and tear including pristine is essentially the same as normal wear and tear. This is a truck not a super car. I fix everything cosmetic on my truck as well. If something gets dirty or scratched I clean or replace it as necessary. But what you are doing is a bridge too far. Your truck isn't going to be showcased at Monterey or Goodwood.

Learn to live a little more. Your truck was expensive when you bought it but it gets less expensive every day and every mile. You do realize that?

I'm not the least bit concerned about trade-in value. I have no intentions of getting rid of my truck. I detail it meticulously because it pleases me, I could give a fuck what it's worth to you.

>I have no intentions of getting rid of my truck

How long can those last?

I'm looking around for a truck, but honestly have to go with a Ram 2500 diesel since those last the longest

I kind of want something that will last a life time..

> I feel good to finally be able to drive where I want without relying on calling one friend or another
And now you've discovered the true joy of driving. That feeling of looking down at the gauges and seeing a warm, healthy engine, a full tank of gas, and just thinking "I can go anywhere." It's a damn good feeling no matter what you're driving.

Everyone can make it

Becoming successful isn't the hard thing

Finding a purpose to live after you have become successful is some hard stuff to deal with which I never prepared for

As far as your situation you haven't really explained much, however, you will most likely make it since you have had the guts to question things and you need that discomfort in life to achieve other things

You might be focusing on your issues right now, however, that isn't something you can't change. Life always takes a different path sometimes, nobody in this thread became successful over night, its all about hard work and never stopping

You stop succeeding when you're dead not when you find another rock in the road. You move the rock and carry on. I'm a bit older than some of you though so the things I have seen in life you wouldn't understand
