is it really that bad?
No longer has a lifetime warranty; you tell me.

Its decent quality but considering sears is going out of business I wouldn't be buying anything craftsman right now.

At one point western forge was making the tools, which is the same company that makes snap on and matco. A craftsman professional grade tool was the same quality as a Snap on, but you get it much cheaper and have the very easy exchange program. Snap on tool trucks will sometimes fight you tooth and nail to swap out a warranty tool. But things might be different now.

Rly? I bought some just before christmas and it said it had a lifetime warranty.
Around 2013 is when they stopped making them in the US. They moved production to Taiwan. I have a set from this time period that has actually held up really well, the wrenches have a nice weight to them, etc. However, in the last few years, production has moved to China, and they're total shit now.

Warranty is only good as long as the company exists.
so what the hell do i get then? i need 1/2" deep metric impact set, 3/8" deep metric normal socket set, some line wrenches and box end wrenches.

>Two tools of different brands come from the same forge, therefore their quality must be identical
I don't even know how to explain how far from reality this statement is
