I'm looking for my first car, preferably rwd or awd and manual, and i stumbled across a low milage 2006 ralliart for very much within budget. Anyone own one of these that can tell me something about it? Looks comparable to a impreza 2.5rs
yeah, they're slow pieces of shit
get a real car instead

160 hp isn't super quick sure, but I dont need too much as long as it can corner well. Plus i can probably turbo it as a project at some point, tools and a garage arent an issue. If you own one, how does it handle?

its fwd garbage if you want a lancer, evo or nothing
I don't own a Ralliart and I'm not really one to push slow cars, but if you're already planning on turning it into a project car later, why not just get something that has been proven to have good handling characteristics already like a Miata or a light ass Honda? The Ralliart doesn't look bad, but you'll have a much larger aftermarket and an easier time finding info on something that's been done before like a Miata or any other Honda swap, plus reliability would be a lot better I'd imagine.
Food for thought.

Oh shit it really isnt awd, why?

The more popular options like those are generally either beat to shit with high milage or above my 5k budget. I am considering a civic eg/ek hatch though.
My friend picked up a 2.5rs, great style and interior. It's slow, but a good car. He claimed he purchased it for 6.5k, but I've done 0 market research on it

If you buy one don't make daily threads asking everyone what it is.

I think he should do exactly that, we need something new and fresh on this board

06 ralliarts are fwd. CJ (08-16) ralliarts are awd, turbo, but only come in automatic, which has its own share of problems.

Not rwd, but a Celica GTS wouldn't be a bad for a budget car. 180hp, decent aftermarket, and good fuel economy. A lot of people think its a girls car, but if you're a girl then you got nothing to hold you back.
