I paid for 5 quarts of oil, yet my car only takes 3.4 quarts. Where did the other 1.6 quarts go?
Change your own oil goy.

I don't have a torque wrench. I'm up for affordable suggestions.

>>17452626
what the fuck do you need a torque wrench for?
>>17452626
These things are usually "only somewhat tighter than you can do by hand".
Those jockies at walmart will forget the screw or overtorque it eventually and strip you pan :^)

To tighten the drain bolt to 29 lbs*ft.

You don't need a torque wrench for oil changes, as long as you're not dumb about putting the oil drain plug back on. But if you really want one, Harbor Freight will sell you one for $10 with a coupon.

the place i take my car to will use an extra quart to purge dirty oil out of the pan.
>>17452838
yeah.... sure they do...
>>17452654
Honda's? You're also supposed to replace the oil plug gasket each time on Honda's.

>Where did the other 1.6 quarts go?
Probably into the crank case where the crankshaft is whipping into a nice froth.
>>17452959
i see them do it from the windowed waiting room, fag.
they don't even charge me for the extra. its a flat 20$. these guys buy oil by the hundred gallon tank so it doesn't mean shit to squirt some extra into your engine.
>>17452588
its up to a maximum of 5 quarts
>>17452588
What kind of fuckin Vietnamese car do you own that requires only 3.4 quarts?
>>17452588
>he didn't read the fine print
>where it says UP TO 5 quarts
jewed again OP!
>>17453085
Holy fuck they make some real shitboxes in Vietnam these days.
>>17452838
Does that even work?
>>17452973
But no one other than the dealer who is charging you markup on parts will actually do that. Just use a damn socket and tighten it down as tight as you can without having to put too much force on it.
