Truck campers are great. You can find a lot of used combos with an F-150 or a RAM for under $5,000. You have the benefit of a very capable off-road vehicle, and you can take the camper off and have a daily driver. They also tend to have more stand-up room than a van. In my little basic truck camper, I have a shitter, propane heater, stove, and massively comfortable bed - all of it mounts on my F-150 in 20 minutes or less.

Totally. I can do it alone in maybe 20 minutes. Most campers will come with jack stands installed.
