Teach me about the Honda CR-Z.
Why did it fail?

a 2 seat hybrid with shitty milage. The Mugen K20 swap actually got better milage while perfroming far better.
>>17446693
They tried to make it fast and fuel efficient and in the end accomplished neither.

I get upper 30's to 40 in town. Better than I ever got with either VW TDI I had.
And the Honda was cheaper to buy... and 87 is cheaper than diesel.
It failed because people wanted a CRX. It failed because honda put in a shitty cam that cost it HP *and* mpg. It failed. But I'm not giving mine up.
Unless it gets recalled AGAIN, for the passenger airbags. Then fuck this thing and fuck honda forever.

Sad for Honda. How many men at Honda killed themselves.
>>17446693
it shares the same chassis as this uninspired turd, it never stood a chance.

>take CRZ body
>throw it on Fit chassis
>just a regular fucking civic engine, no hybrid shit
Literally all you had to do Honda.
I own one. Here are my thoughts and understandings.
the car was advertised as "sporty" car. but the american and european concept of "sport" is track-focused performance, sleek body lines. this car i a different definition of sporty. its fun to drive, has a huge cargo hatch, and is driver focused. This isnt a success for the current car market because if a car isnt fast, or all electric, or can seat 7 people, people dont see a use for it.
I use mine to commute, but I have fun doing it, which you can do with any car. It makes sense that it didnt work out. however, I love mine because it is a weird car, it isnt one you see everyday and is really easy to modify, huge aftermarket. i think in 15 years the crz will be memorable because it wasnt scared to be different. there are 86/brz/fr-s everywhere, they're already played out.
It's shit because of the torsion beam rear suspension

The universe broke anon, the flow of time is corrupted.

Imagine if the thing just shipped with the K20 in it and better suspension, it'd be hailed as a god machine.
I wish I lived in that timeline.
>>17448377
It failed because it tried to be quirky but wasn't quirky enough.
Meanwhile the Veloster is a more memorable car, and will live to see another day in the form of a next generation, while the CRZ is ded.
>>17446693
It's a "sporty hybrid" that isn't sporty and doesn't get good mileage
>>17446693
Not a good sports car and not a good hybrid
