In the uk everyone has german cars. Not even funny when chavs drive around in Audi's etc. I made a joke about it once when I spotted an immaculate amg with my family and said "I bet a true scumbag drives that".
Sure enough, as soon as I finished my sentence, a young guy wearing a dirty, stained tracksuit carrying a baby girl and some toys walked up, put her inside with a rocker type car seat and drove off.

My wife is one of those 'have to have a euro car' types. Like all women when she got pregnant she wanted to update her hatchback to an SUV. She absolutely didn't want a Japanese car and was acting like it was beneath her. Ended up getting a freakin Tiguan.

My parents however bought a honda odessey because they have a growing amount of grandkids between me and my siblings. Thought it would be great for family trips. Plus I can take my WRX with us for those longs trips.

I'm starting to slowly rice out that car :O

As said, they should be looking at Lexus, Cadillac, and Lincoln. The Euro cars might be 10% better but the total cost of ownership will be 50% less with something American or Japanese.

Particularly if they're not buying a hot sports sedan, no reason to put up with German bullshit.

I figured out why Americans hate on VWs.
The VWs made in Mexico or simply outside of europe have worse build quality, they even use a different, cheaper alloys.
