So I just bought a rust bucket 85 Celica Supra. Its my goal to restore it, Im quite aware that its going to cost me about 20 grand overall to get it in perfect, condition.
Right now my main problem is the engine. Its bleeding oil. Its gonna cost me about 5 thousand to "fix" it assuming more problems dont arise. So I wanted to get a new engine. Ive found dozens of nice supra engines close enough to my model year (I want to be as close to stock as possible) but they are all imported from Japan. They are cheap, low millage and come with valve covers, mamifold etc. I also have a mechanic thatll do it for a decent price
Tldr; What exactly will I need in order to put this right hand drive engine into my car. I cant find any US engine thats worth the money. Its gonna need mounts etc and where can I possibly find parts like this.
bump ~ Any help is much appreciated

I'm just going to get this out of the way.
LS1 swap.
>Celica Supra
get on the usa mk2 supra page there's no reason to spend that kind of money putting a 5mge in your car when someone on that page will find you one for way less.
the group is called "toyota celicasupra mkii 1982-1986"

Preferably, I would say 2jz swap and leave it at that.
But im not really familiar with shit like restoration projects so I cant give any solid advise.

do this.

yeah thats literally what this model was called retard

You probably shouldn't start with the engine
A full restoration usually goes something like this:
>completely strip to shell
>acid dip/sandblast to remove paint
>necessary welding
>regalvanisation
>paint the shell
meanwhile
>source new plastic trims and rubbers
>refinish/repair seats and interior
>build new wiring loom
meanwhile
>source new/rebuild suspension and drivetrain components
>rebuild engine/source new
>reassemble interior
>body panels
>suspension/drivetrain
>wheels
>engine
