Would you rather a miata GT with a v6 or a new RX?

Since Mazda currently doesn't even make a V6, that would mean:
>Option 1: Ford Cyclone V6 (~275hp)
Mediocre but better than most current options
>Option 2: Mazda K V6 (200hp)
Not enough power to be worth the weight, probably won't make emissions. However, with enough modernisation this kind of small V6 would be the best match for the MX-5.
>Option 3: Screw the V6, 2.5 Turbo (225hp)
This is probably the best and easiest option. Also, Fiat can now cram their 1.75T into the 124 without destorying the ND.
I'd prefer any of these options over a new RX to be honest.

The turbo i4 would be more likely, but you're going to need more bottom end torque for all the glass and extra luggage space. Even cyclone v6 would make it a great deal more powerful than the gt86 and keep it fun.

The new 2.5 turbo in the CX-9 makes 310 lbfts of torque at 2000RPM.
The Cyclone V6 in the previous gen made 249 ftlbs @ 4500RPM.
The turbo sounds like it has a lot more torque.

Didn't know the 2.5 was that good.
It's a shame Mazda will never do it. I want a real roof and trunk space and something resembling, but not quite, actual power.

Can I play?
I always thought a 2.8L V8 Busan swap in a Miata GT would be the cats ass.

BUSA As in Hayabusa

yeah
I dont think people would spend 70+ thousand dollars for a Miata
Copy pasta.

A new rx. The ND is awesome and the rf is a cool niche thing but mazda right now really needs another sports car, not a roadster. one with a quirk to it to get people interested and power that the miata just doesn't have or is it known for. Plus seeing them do rotary correctly this time and informing customers heavily when they buy would go a long way.

>Introducing the RX-9
>4 rotor engine derived from R26B engine

>supercharger is always running, turbo comes on in higher revs
>rear biased AWD system

>Mazda states the car has 276 bhp
>actually in the realm of 800 bhp
>north American version
>no boost
>front wheel drive
>3 rotor renesis engine
>no rear wheel steering
>torque converter automatic only (focus groups didn't like fast shifts)
>12 cup holders

Nope, sequential dogbox or gtfo.
And the NA version would obviously have a CVT.
