>pulls out of F1 to focus on electic
>releases i8
>Thin fucking tires in the front so no grip for /trackday/
>strange and unforgivable design decisions with simple things like doors and engine hood
>look at me design philosophy
>costs $150,000 but drives less sporty than an M2.
I'm interested in hybrid performance technology but I dont want to drive around in a clown car. Put a hybrid system in an M4 and sign me up. But as much as I want to like this car I just can't.
Its priced like a super car but drives like an entry level sport car. Whats going on here? Am i Missing something? Why wouldn't you just buy an M6 or 911 and save yourself $50k.
It also has shit reliability, crazy repair costs, and is super over engineered to the point where it's not really repairable by the average person. Huge nightmare to own, especially out of warranty.
It does look futuristic as hell though.
Best looking BMW currently for sale. Other than that, literally no reason to buy it, especially at it's price point

for like $60k I would want one. Esp with new regular front tires.
>we want the apple audience

Agreed, this is quite a popular car in my area, I usually see 3-4 a day. I think the only reason this sells is because it looks so great, if Tesla made a two door sports car that looked this good BMWi would be out of business.

When I lived in Boston I saw them way more than ///M cars and about as much as Teslas.
I'd take the i8 over a Tesla anyday though.

It looks like its shitting out a Porsche in the back It is Hideous, and a waste.
Trying to Weasley in on that tesla government money, same reason they're doing all this bullshit driverless car stuff.
EU regs and European city congestion fees.
Since the car can drive in EV mode. It can avoid fees and taxes.
Giving rich euro trash drivers an image car.

what car do you think looks pretty? probably something pre-2000
>>17411579
I haven't seen a single fucking one in Plymouth and the cape area.

They're all over by commonwealth/beaconhill/newberry street.

it has decent (if not good) reliability.
>taking your electric car to a track
sure if you want to roast that battery within a few hours, go for it
