Miata vs civic

Civic is a better daily. More volume to fit your stuff. Miata is more fun to drive on the twisties. They both have a respectable aftermarket. The civic is more bang for your buck and an underdog compared to the Miata. If you wanna be called a fag and be like every other guy who bought an NA Miata for meme status go ahead but don't expect to not be called out on your decision to buy one.

If your budget is $3000, you won't get far with Miatas these days. $3000 will buy you a decent civic though.

I've owned a 91 miata for years and this has literally never happened to me. Most of the time I hear 'Hey, a Miata! Those are fun cars!'. Stop spreading bs.

Both are fun if manual. However, I think that certain Miatas will look much, much better. Pic attached was mine, and people of all ages gave it compliments constantly. Ofc, so many miatas now are thoroughly thrashed.

I haven't worked on an EG hatch, but had a 1991 integra. It handled amazingly, was very practical, but felt like it was built to be disposable much more so than a miata- I recall some suspension bolts seemingly deliberately designed to rust in place.

Civic:
-better daily
-stupid aftermarket support
-handles very well
-can be made fast with relative ease
-maintenance is very easy on D-series engine

Miata:
-handles even better than Civic
-good aftermarket
-can drift it
-handles boost very well
-very easy to work on

Except for body style and drivetrain configuration, they're both of a similar vein. I suppose the deciding factor is whether you want to slide or you want a fun, functional daily.

There's plenty of cool cars that could theoretically have been found for that money but I had to make due with what I could find. Never expected to be a Honda hatch owner but I've come to enjoy mine greatly.

I unironically wanted a 240sx for the longest time and browsed craigslist and ebay religiously for around 6 months. During that time I found 6 cases that were rust free, relatively stock, and taken care of. All six of those sellers wanted around 6 to 7 grand and refused to go down a single penny.

I get nothing but love for both of the mx-5s i've owned. Kids love them, chicks dig them, old dudes froth on them. Sure, only 50% of the 20-30 year old leb/skyline crowd will give them a second look but if you're out to impress people, and especially people like that, why would you be buying an mx-5?
