About to buy a Subaru SVX with 43k miles at dealer for 4k. I plan to daily drive it and eventually manual swap layer down, is this a huge mistake? I read online they seem to be reliable although not so economic. It's a 1992 by the way
You'll need another svx for parts

SVX is neat, I'm happy to hear you want one. Hopefully you'll look after it better than most of their owners. I bet a manual swap would be a tremendous pain in the ass but good luck
And I don't care if you don't like memes, >>17405398 brings up a good point because sourcing parts for this will be ridiculous

So you're telling me replacement parts will have to be sourced through junkyards and such? Dealer and or online retailers won't suffice?

They're kinda rare cars and have pretty unique things on them so they don't really keep producing new parts for them. Also try to get it for 3.5k if you can, though that's still a pretty decent price from a dealer.

If you plan on daily driving it, make sure you do your due dilligence and check as much as you can.
It should be a good car, but they all have one problem or another.
Also, have a contingency plan incase something goes really awry. DDing something like that is risky but fun.
