what does /o/ think of the STI Type RA
>>17400575
Inferior to the Bmw 340i Xdrive in every single way.
>>17400596
The subaru holds its value better, cheaper to maintain, looks better, and has great aftermarket!
>STI has 305HP
>Type RA gets a tune, stronger pistons, new intake/downpipe/exhaust
>310HP
Pretty sure you'd make an extra 10 in bolt-ons alone, how did they manage to get so little out of it? Did they tune it down instead? Subaru doesn't even try, a 1999 Impreza 22B would be faster than a modern STI on the same tires.
>>17400607
Probably tuned down just to keep things from going wrong. An aftermarket tune would probably give it 360+
>>17400607
New STI will be out soon, they're fooling some people with this new limited edition before the other comes out
>>17400616
I hope so, the sti platform is 10 years overdo.
>>17400596
RCR pleb
Not a whole lot.
>>17400607
going fast is for plebs
>Civic Type R makes same power (more in Yurop), with less drivetrain power loss, and weighs 300lbs less
The "Record Attempt" edition will remain an attempt, unless Subaru wants to make up a category to sound like they've accomplished something.
>>17400700
Well if Nissan can do it why can't Subaru?
>>17400607
A 22B was also a 1/400 car that still costs $90,000 used.
And probably for the same reason the 2015 STi was rated at 305hp crank like the 2008-2014s despite putting down 20-30whp more on the dyno over them stock for stock.
Fucking disgusting
