They have the design elements of a durable, low maintenance motorcycle. Use an engine layout that isn't unbalanced, actually make it reliable, and put it in a reasonably modern chassis and I would buy it today.
>hydraulic lifters
>belt drive
>air cooled
>transmission is a separate unit
>tuned for usable power
Too bad harley build quality is literally trash and their marketing is cancer.

Buy a Superdouche 1290... People that buy Harley's want that rugged unrefined feel to make themselves feel more manlier.
They have, it's called a Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki or Kawasaki.

Yamaha even makes a baby 250 cruiser with a v twin
I loved this thing in highschool

Harley V Twins run for fucking ever with barely any maintenance. All you need to do is add oil regularly because they leak due to loose tolerances.

This is not even close to true
A Honda Shadow is what you are looking for.

This. They are also a fraction of the price

harley on suicide watch
Harley is fucking garbage. Can't wait to see them go under when all the boomers die off.
I'd buy a harley dual sport to be honest

Nah, Jarleys are fucking cancer. The world doesn't need more cruisers.
I'm talking about putting a low maintenance engine in a decent chassis. The closest bikes I coud think of would be moto guzzis or maybe early suzuki bandits. But they still have solid lifters and short maintenance intervals.

So a Honda?

>said someone who has never owned one
I've owned all kinds of bikes. Never had an issue with the two Harleys I owned. Well, I had to get a blinker switch replaced once on the cross bones after a couple years.
Your hatred is hillarious. My yamaha r6was a fucking pile of shit. CBR's were good. Vstar was....mehhh. The YZ was shit and constantly breaking. The brief time I got to ride on a GSX-R (two months) the oil filter just broke the fuck off.

dude a guzzi is fucking easy to work on. why complain about that. the only hard part is the clutch. but how often do you need to change the clutch?

The V-Star I had was the most uncomfortable and slow bike I've ever owned. It was so fucking shitty I regretted it immediately.
