ITT: Talk about your struggles to enjoy car culture on an extreme budget
>had to replace rear drum shoes on my focus to make parking brake work
>two routes, remove spindle nut from the outside or remove 4 bolts from the inside
>don't have a socket big enough for spindle so I go after the four smaller ones
>these bolts haven't been touched since the car was manufactured
>have to raise the car a stupid height to make room to swing my breaker bar to get these rusted cunts loose
>break one of them but get the drum/hub off
>replace shoes
>drill out the broken bolt, don't have a replacement and fucked up the hole anyway
>put it back together with only 3 corroded bolts and hope it'll hold while I order a new spindle for $11 and find some fresh bolts at lowes
>get new spindles in the mail (ordered one for each side cause I know the other will do the same thing or look just as bad)
>got new bolts, made sure they're the correct strength and everything
>got a socket big enough for that spindle nut
>gonna do the job right this time I tell you hwat
>get spindle nut off, drum won't remove
>google it
>"you can pry it off with two prybars or a puller but be careful because you might ruin the bearing in the process and have to replace that too"
>don't have a spare bearing
>going to see a Miata tomorrow in hopes of replacing this piece of junk
>can't jeopardize that mission
>put my shitbox back together and go inside for the day
But the worst feel of all
>no fridge magnet in my rock auto box when I got the spindles
