i drive a Mercedes-Benz, actually
Golf - $19,895
Corolla iM - $18,750
Civic LX - $19,700
Because the fuel gets you further are you fully retarded? The petrol version can be picked up for next to nothing
>>17386040
If you drove a Corolla for 5 years and then traded it in for a Golf/Jetta, you would understand why. VW is shit, but the suspension/handling is very fucking sporty and the interiors are far better than other cars they compete with.

Because muh VW. European Golfs have Honda level depreciation, even though they are piles of junk from the Mk VI onwards.
This image comes from the good old days of the Mk4 Golf and B5.5 Passat which were indeed bulletproof tanks. However, modern VW cut corners on quality and modern VWs are plagued with problems. But people buy them thinking that an modern day Passat can do 800k km no probs, like the B5.5 could do.

Agreed, buying one used is a nightmare with people pricing them in the 7-10k € range despite the cars having over 150k km's and very little in terms of additional equipment.
And I hope you like generic silver or jet black, because those are the only two colors that exist apparently.

Meanwhile - there's plenty of cars out there that don't have a VW badge and are much better.
Even the Alfa 159 is above the B6/B7 Passat in terms of reliability.
And VW made a real mess out of the 1.2tsi and the 140 bhp 1.4 tsi. And the 1.6tdi.
They are literally garbage today.

You can always get a cheaper version of Golf - Seat Leon.
