Hey guys I've really wanted an Impreza 2.5RS for a while because muh Impreza coupe.
Biggest question now that I'm in a position to buy one - How reliable are they? I expected tofu tax but not really 6k for 180-200k+ miles. Are the NA subaru engines -that- reliable?
Anybody own one? What's the usual maint. on it?

Service records is what you need, ask seller if he's okay with pre purchase inspection at shop. If he's not look somewhere else

I drove an NA 2.5 wagon back in the early 2000's and it was extremely reliable. But as with any older car, maintenance records matter a lot. Good luck, you'll love the RS.

Assuming it's in mint condition, I'd pay as high as 5k, would prefer 4k. The plans are to make it a bunta clone anyway so it's not like I'm keeping the 200k engine for long.
